IIJIF, Volume 5, Issue 1 — June 2013

Use this issue to trace older debates about home financing, Islamic will services and Shariah expertise. Start with the reading map, then open the cited original or catalogue entry. These are historical research discussions; a paper’s argument does not settle the terms or Shariah status of a product you are offered today.

Home financing, ownership and settlement research

A Malaysian reader comparing a home-financing offer may want to know when payments reduce the balance, when ownership transfers and what happens on early settlement. This is a reading purpose, not a claim that all papers answer those questions. The map identifies starting points without turning a research debate into a present-day contract rule.

01

Start with the question you have

How do home payments relate to ownership?

Hasan: norms and the Excel formula; al-Maghribi: home-financing models. Compare arguments, then check the actual payment and ownership documents.

What service is being sold when I arrange a will?

al-Mamun: Malaysian will-writing service channels. A research title does not identify your assets, heirs or service fee.

What knowledge should a Shariah adviser have?

Farook and Farooq: education and professional expertise. The author abstract proposes a qualification discussion, not a current roster.

New editorial reading paths built from verified titles and the retrieved author abstract. The arrows guide reading; they are not cash flows or a product-approval process.

Full text explanation

For home financing, read the Hasan and al-Maghribi entries. For will-writing services, use the al-Mamun entry. For education of Shariah practitioners, use Farook and Farooq. These routes identify topics only; check the access and pagination limitations alongside each entry.

Issue contents

The list below follows catalogue page order. It is a reconstructed article list, not a facsimile table of contents or a claim that all editorial matter has been recovered. Original English titles remain in the BM record so you can locate the originals. Authors’ names are bibliographic credits, not biographies or current institutional appointments.

  1. Catalogue pp. 9–27

Islamic norms, the Excel formula and home financing models

    Zubair Hasan

The catalogue gives pp. 9–27. The author-deposited MPRA metadata gives pp. 7–28. This page does not resolve that interval. Read the legitimate author copy below; do not use these numbers as a verified final journal citation.

    Sources: A1J3

  2. Catalogue pp. 29–88

Conceptual analysis of Islamic home financing models

Nabil Bin Muhammad al-Maghribi (catalogue transliteration)

Catalogue metadata identifies a home-financing comparison. The catalogue misspells “Conceptual” as “Connceptual”; the reader label is corrected. Full article findings have not been independently recovered for this record.

    Sources: A2

  3. Catalogue pp. 89–114

Wasiyah (Islamic will) writing service in Malaysia: an investigation of the supply channel

    Suhayli al-Mamun (catalogue transliteration)

This is a service-channel research title, not a will-writing form or a ruling on a reader’s estate. Metadata only; no unseen findings are summarized.

    Sources: A3

  4. Catalogue pp. 115–134

Critique of the non-interest banking framework in Nigeria

    Ahmad Bello Dogarawa

Nigeria is the named jurisdiction. Do not import its historical legal discussion into a Malaysian product decision. Metadata only.

  5. Catalogue pp. 137–160

Shariah governance, expertise and profession: educational challenges in Islamic finance

Sayd Farook and Mohammad Omar Farooq (author record)

The author record confirms the volume, issue and pages. Its abstract is summarized below; the full article was not retrieved. Catalogue names use different transliterations.

    Sources: A5J4

  6. Catalogue pp. 163–168

Risk sharing: an alternative to interest-based debt financing

    Mughis Shawkat

A risk-sharing discussion is indexed. Its title does not establish that any investment is capital-guaranteed or suitable for a particular reader. Metadata only.

    Sources: A6

  7. Catalogue pp. 169–173

Application of Suftajah in modern Islamic financial institutions

    Yusuf Adam al-Badani (catalogue transliteration)

The catalogue indexes a discussion of Suftajah. No transaction structure or present-day remittance offer is reconstructed from this title.

    Sources: A7

  8. Catalogue pp. 175–182

Distribution of Mudarabah profits in classical school of Fiqh: clarification of a misconception

    Farrukh Habib

Mudarabah is a capital-and-management partnership term. This catalogue entry supplies identity, not a verified profit-sharing rule; no ratio or fatwa is invented.

  9. Catalogue pp. 183–189

Instruments for meeting capital adequacy requirements under Basel III: a Shariah perspective

Beebee Salma Sairally; Murjan Muhammad; Madaa Munjid Mustafa (catalogue spellings)

This concerns institutions’ capital requirements. It is not a promise to protect a consumer’s invested capital. Names and pagination here are catalogue metadata.

  10. Catalogue pp. 191–198

The application of commodity Murabahah in Bursa Suq al-Sila Malaysia vis-à-vis Jakarta Future Exchange Shariah Indonesia: a comparative analysis

Ashraf Wajdi Bin Dato Dusuki; M. Mahbubi Ali; Yulizar D. Sandrego (catalogue spellings)

The title identifies a Malaysia–Indonesia comparison of commodity sales used in financing. It does not verify execution of a reader’s transaction. Metadata only.

Two accessible starting points, with limits

Home-financing debate. Hasan’s author manuscript challenges instalment-formula models using his stated fairness and ownership-transfer criteria, and proposes a different diminishing-balance method. This is the author’s historical argument, not this record’s Shariah verdict. The full author copy is linked externally; its publication pagination is unresolved.

Sources: J3F

Expertise and education. Farook and Farooq’s abstract frames training and qualification standards as industry challenges and outlines a professional-development discussion. Only that abstract and the author publication metadata were retrieved. This record does not reproduce the abstract or claim to have checked the paper’s detailed framework.

An issue match needs more than a backlink

Established: English issue identity

INCEIF holding: 2013 Vol.5 No.1. Author publication fields and catalogue match June 2013.

Recovered: ten catalogue entries

Titles, credited authors and catalogue page intervals are available. Full findings are not inferred from those fields.

Unresolved: complete publisher contents

Editorial/front matter and final page intervals need a complete English publisher copy or authoritative issue contents.

Excluded: Negasi’s 2015 in-press record

Arabic title; xx(xx); pages 1–24; accepted text restricted. A link to the 2013 route supplies no final issue membership.

Source identity, access and findings are separate questions. The exclusion concerns this issue association; it does not decide whether the 2015 work was later published elsewhere.

Sources: J1J2J5

Full text explanation

The English 2013 issue is supported by library and author records. Ten catalogue entries can be listed. A complete publisher contents page remains missing. Negasi’s Arabic-titled work is a 2015 in-press record without volume or issue; it is excluded, and its final publication identity remains unresolved.

The referring IIUM record credits Mohamed Ibrahim Negasi and describes a 2015 in-press article about the International Islamic Fiqh Academy and investment sukuk. Its journal fields remain “xx(xx)”; the accepted PDF and letters are staff-restricted. It points to the old June 2013 page, but that link does not reconcile the year, language or issue. Its final publication identity remains unverified, so it is not included among this issue’s articles.

Sources: J5

The old archived landing page could not be reopened during this check. Its previously recorded heading is retained as a historical pointer, while the fresh library and author records support the issue identity independently. The old archived landing page has not been recovered.

Read the dates and pages separately

Work date in repositoryHasan · 2012
Publication fieldJune 2013 · 5(1)
Repository deposit2 July 2013
Page interval conflictMPRA 7–28 / catalogue 9–27
This annotated example uses the actual author repository record. A deposit or modification date is not the issue date. Until final journal pages are checked, cite the manuscript itself with its repository identifier rather than inventing a final page interval.

Sources: J3A1

Full text explanation

For Hasan’s paper, the repository labels the work 2012, the publication June 2013 in volume 5 issue 1, and the deposit 2 July 2013. Its 7–28 page interval differs from catalogue 9–27. Treat final journal pagination as unresolved; the author manuscript is a separate accessible version.

For an accessible manuscript citation, use: Zubair Hasan, Islamic norms, the excel formula and home financing models, MPRA Paper 47955, author-deposited version, accessed 6 October 2026. Add final journal pages only after checking that version. The library’s print ISSN identifies a serial, not every digit in a particular article’s pagination.

Use the research carefully in a decision today

Later Malaysian governance has its own dated primary documents. Bank Negara Malaysia’s Shariah Governance policy was issued 20 September 2019 and generally took effect 1 April 2020; paragraph 12.5 took effect 1 April 2023. Do not describe a 2013 research proposal as that policy. This source record gives no approval of a provider’s actual transaction.

Muslim and non-Muslim readers can use the same research record. Product participation is a separate question: HSBC Amanah’s Personal Financing-i FAQ explicitly includes eligible Muslim and non-Muslim customers. That statement is about its named product; it neither determines your eligibility nor proves that every financing, investment or social-finance scheme is open to everyone.

  • For a financing comparison, ask for the actual Product Disclosure Sheet, offer and agreements. Identify who owns or sells each asset, who receives the money, what you owe, and how settlement changes the obligation.
  • Compare the same amount, term and purpose: total payments, fees, late-payment terms, early-settlement treatment, exclusions from any bundled protection and security requirements. This is an editorial checklist, not a rate quotation.
  • For a will-writing service, check what work the fee includes, who stores or executes the document, and whether advice covers your actual assets and family. This issue supplies no individual estate outcome.
  • Record original title, authors, journal, issue, version, access status and source date before citing a finding. Do not cite a catalogue title as though you read the full paper.
