IICIF is an annual event organised by ISRA. Prior to 2014, it was conducted by ISRA in collaboration with several universities in Malaysia. However, this year (2014), Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) has recognised IICIF as one of the main agendas in its upcoming event, the Global Islamic Finance Forum (GIFF). This recognition endorses IICIF as an up and coming worldclass event to promote effective interaction among prominent experts, Shari’ah scholars, academicians, students and other industry players, with the objectives of enhancing the existing collaborative efforts relating to Islamic finance, propagating harmonization of Shari’ah opinions and promoting mutual respect among all the stakeholders of Islamic finance. This would lead to further advancement of the regional and global Islamic financial industry. ISRA, as a research institution, is keen to become the avenue for bridging the gaps between academics, students and the industry. This will facilitate the fostering of brilliant ideas, innovative thoughts and quality research through which the industry could reap the benefit of further improvement.
